The key to future township development
The aforementioned tech event was held last January 23, 2026 at Solaire North in Quezon City.
This gathering was intended for developers, consultants, and industry partners, centered on how integrated HVAC systems can address the complexity of mixed-use projects while aiming for energy efficiency, centralized control, and operational reliability.

With over a century of global operation, Daikin hosts such seminars to share technical knowledge, advocate for sustainable cooling, and demonstrate comprehensive HVAC systems. This year’s discussion focused on two primary themes: Smart Township Cooling Solutions for Modern Mixed-Use Developments and Connected Comfort through Limitless Accessibility in Modern Building Design.

Daikin Philippines President Mr. Hirohide Kinugawa stated that HVAC is now a strategic component of building performance.
Air conditioning is no longer just an equipment; it is a foundation that protects building quality and future value,” he said, noting the integration of efficiency, comfort, and sustainability. Kinugawa added, “In large, mixed-use developments, HVAC must support energy efficiency, operational stability, and long-term building value. At Daikin, we design systems that help townships perform efficiently today while remaining adaptable for the future. Together, let’s create comfortable, energy-saving spaces across the Philippines.
Smart township cooling for mixed-use developments
As townships expand beyond Metro Manila, cooling demands now span residential, office, hotel, and retail spaces within single projects.
According to Mr. Wesley Andre Chu, Deputy Division Manager for Project Sales, townships require cohesive HVAC strategies.
Townships bring together multiple asset types with different usage patterns, Chu shared. “Our goal is to provide developers and consultants with practical, integrated solutions that deliver efficiency, comfort, and long-term value across the entire development.
Daikin’s approach involves scalable VRV systems, chillers for large spaces, and intelligent ventilation designed to operate under one coordinated system.

Planning HVAC from the initial stages is presented as a method to achieve energy performance, operational simplicity, and infrastructure prepared for future needs.
Connected Comfort and Limitless Accessibility
Connectivity was highlighted as a key requirement in modern building design, with connected HVAC systems enabling real-time monitoring and management across multiple buildings.
Mr. Andrew Hobbs, Head of Business Development – Solutions at Daikin Holdings Singapore, presented regional case studies. He explained how centralized systems and predictive analytics can balance comfort with efficiency.
In large, mixed-use developments, visibility and control are critical, Hobbs said. Connected HVAC systems allow operators to anticipate issues, manage energy use more effectively, and maintain consistent comfort across different building types.
MARUTTO: Preventive maintenance at scale
A key focus was MARUTTO, Daikin’s cloud-based HVAC control and monitoring platform, presented as a solution for preventive maintenance in large-scale projects.
The platform is designed to provide centralized monitoring and control across portfolios, with features for energy optimization, performance management, and user-specific dashboards. Its workflow management and AI capabilities aim to predict demand, detect inefficiencies, and enable proactive maintenance.

By identifying potential issues early, the platform intends to reduce downtime, lower operating costs, and extend equipment life. For township-scale projects, this approach is meant to support stable operations and maintain asset value.
Building long-term Value Through Integrated Solutions
The seminar emphasized the need for collaboration as projects grow in complexity. Mr. Tomohiro Kure, Vice President of Daikin Philippines, outlined a vision of partnership to deliver lasting value.
Together, we can raise the value of homes, offices, retail, and hotels across entire townships as we build better spaces and stronger communities, he said.
The Daikin Solutions Seminar 2026 reflected the company’s effort to share expertise and promote smart, sustainable cooling solutions for developments in the Philippines. By combining township-scale planning, connected systems, and platforms like MARUTTO, Daikin aims to support the design of efficient and long-term built environments.
