realme C83 5G launched: 7,000mAh battery, Dimensity 6300, Drop-resistant body

realme has expanded its C-series portfolio with the launch of the realme C83 5G, a new budget-oriented smartphone.

Affordable large battery phone

The handset features a flat design with a vertical dual-camera module on the rear panel. It is available in two color finishes: Blooming Purple, which blends blue and purple hues, and Sprouting Green, inspired by the tones of fresh vegetables. 

The device measures 8.4mm and weighs 212 grams. It also comes with ArmorShell protection and MIL-STD-810H certification. Furthermore, the phone has an IP64 dust and water resistance rating.

In front, the realme C83 5G is equipped with a 6.8-inch LCD (IPS) display with HD+ resolution of 1570 x 720 pixels and supports a 144Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and transitions. It also features a 180Hz touch sampling rate and a peak brightness of 900 nits, which enhances visibility under direct sunlight.

Inside is the 2.4GHz 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor paired with an Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU for graphics handling.

The smartphone is available in these configurations: 4GB/6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB/128GB storage options

The device is backed by a 7,000mAh battery and USB-C 15W wired charging. It also includes reverse wired charging and bypass charging capabilities. According to realme, the battery is engineered to maintain reliable performance over a six-year period.

In terms of imaging, the realme C83 5G features a 13MP rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. On the front, it houses a 5MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video calls.

Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a bottom-ported speaker with 300 percent Ultra Volume for enhanced audio output. 

The phone supports WiFi (2.4GHz/5GHz), 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and dual SIM.

For OS, the device runs on realme UI 7.0, based on Android 16. It includes an AI Outdoor Mode designed to optimize the user experience in outdoor settings by automatically adjusting screen brightness, system performance, network responsiveness, and audio output.

The phone is currently available in India. There's no word yet for a PH release at the moment.
