Luvit Card is expanding access to digital credit
In a joint statement, the companies said the Luvit Card allows Filipinos to make purchases—whether for shopping, bill payments, or travel bookings—across Mastercard’s global network of merchants and repay them in installments.
It is also available in virtual and physical cards, with application and payment done through the Luvit app.
According to Francisco Roberto Mauricio, CEO of WeFund, a subsidiary of FinVolution Group, applications can be approved in minutes with minimal requirements.
Both parties hope to gain momentum, particularly from the younger consumers and those outside the traditional banking system, as more Filipinos shift to digital financial services.
The Philippines has one of the most dynamic digital economies in Southeast Asia, yet millions of Filipinos still lack access to financial solutions. The Luvit Card addresses this by giving users a card accepted by millions of merchants globally, backed by a lending experience designed around how they manage money. That combination of access and flexibility makes it meaningful, said Jason Crasto, Country Manager, Philippines, Mastercard.
The program is supported by Asia United Bank as the BIN sponsor and MatchMove as the technology partner.
