US President Donald Trump said that Apple has agreed to work with Intel for the US production of chips.
According to a report by The Elec, Trump made this announcement on his Truth Social platform.
Apple has agreed to work with Intel to design and manufacture chips in the United States," the official was quoted as saying.
The technology the world depends on was invented in America. We all remember 'Intel Inside,' Trump said.
The US president said, "foolish presidents took the American economy for granted and allowed Taiwan and other countries to take America's semiconductor factories away."
The US government is Intel's largest shareholder, holding approximately 10% of the company.
Apple and Intel have issued a separate statement on the matter.
