Globe boosted network capacity and livestream coverage to keep Baragatan sa Palawan 2026 connected.

Stronger network, wider festival reach

Globe kept residents, visitors, and stakeholders online throughout this year's Baragatan sa Palawan celebration, giving the province's biggest festival a stronger digital backbone.

Puerto Princesa City's mobile network, now supported by more than 80 Globe cell sites, over 20 of them 5G-capable, handled the surge in data usage that came with the festivities. This local setup is part of a wider network of over 200 cell sites the company operates across Palawan.

To extend the celebration's reach, Globe also set up livestream feeds at the Capitol Complex and Sports Complex, so those unable to attend in person could still watch the festival unfold in real time.

Through our network and livestream support, Globe is helping make the festival more accessible while enabling people to participate, engage, and share meaningful moments wherever they may be, said Adonis Evangelista, senior director for Palawan at Globe.

Globe's involvement extended to the Baragatan Moments 2026 Reel-Making Contest, where festival-goers were invited to share short-form videos of their favorite moments from the celebration.

The company backed the contest with lamppost banners, a Globe 5G Phone as the top prize, and dedicated internet access at Capitol Grounds and Balayong, support that helped spark online engagement and creative storytelling around the festival.

These efforts align with Puerto Princesa's expanding tourism industry, which continues to draw more visitors each year. Figures from the Puerto Princesa City Tourism Office show the city recorded close to 400,000 visitor arrivals in the first half of 2025 alone, translating to roughly PHP 2.6 billion in tourism revenue.
