The Philippine ride-hailing and transport network vehicle service (TNVS) market experienced a massive green shift driven by GreenGSM (Green and Smart Mobility). Founded in Vietnam in March 2023 by Pham Nhat Vuong, the Billionaire founder of Vingroup, GSM was launched as the world's first all-electric taxi service and vehicle rental company.

Using an exclusive fleet of electric vehicles from its sister company, VinFast, GSM quickly scaled across Vietnam before initiating a rapid international expansion throughout Southeast Asia.

GreenGSM officially entered the Philippines in June 2025, bringing its signature cyan-green electric fleet to Metro Manila. Positioned as a direct, sustainable rival to traditional gas-powered ride-hailing options, GreenGSM offers zero tailpipe emissions, quiet cabin experiences, and standardized, high-quality driver services.

When GreenGSM made its Philippine debut, it rolled out an initial wave of 5-seater EV crossovers and hatchbacks, primarily centered on models such as the VinFast VF 5 and VFe34 that both came in the iconic teal green color.

This initial fleet gave Filipino commuters an affordable, tech-forward entry point into electric mobility.

To meet the demand for higher-capacity rides, GreenGSM has officially rolled out the Limo Green ride option on the GreenGSM app. It features a purpose-built 3-row VinFast Limo Green MPV that can serve up to 6 passengers. Surprisingly, the taxi is mainly black with the signature teal colored taxi sign on top.

The addition of the Limo Green tier positions GreenGSM as a comprehensive competitor in the Philippine ride-hailing space. By combining larger vehicle footprints with zero-emission electric power, GreenGSM addresses both passenger comfort and urban decarbonization. Commuters can now select the Limo Green option directly inside the GreenGSM mobile app.

It is worth noting that the service commands a small premium over the standard rate.

Currently in 2026, GreenGSM is authorized to operate in select areas in the Philippines, including Metro Manila, Davao City, and inter-city corridors that connect Metro Manila to adjacent provinces.
