Meta introduced Muse Charm, a keychain-sized companion device for its Muse AI agent, during the Meta Connect 2026 keynote.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg presented the gadget on stage, describing it as a way to carry the "whole Muse experience," including real-time voice interaction and an animated avatar, in a form small enough to clip to a keychain.
The device features a small display that shows an animated avatar representing Muse. To start a conversation, users tap a fingerprint sensor built into one corner of the device.

According to Reuters, the device includes a roughly 2-inch touchscreen and built-in 5G connectivity, meaning it could operate without being paired to a phone.
Meta has not finalized several key details. The company also has not disclosed pricing, battery life, or full technical specifications, and Zuckerberg indicated the device's internal design is still being worked out.
Muse Charm is intended as an additional access point for Muse, the AI agent Meta launched earlier in September. Muse is designed to carry out tasks on a user's behalf, such as browsing the web, working with connected apps, and continuing assignments in the background, rather than simply answering questions.
Meta has been expanding the list of services Muse can connect to, including retail, payment, travel, and productivity platforms.
Meanwhile, the firm is targeting a December 2026 launch, in time for the holiday season, though the timeline could shift given the device's early prototype status.
The announcement places Meta in a hardware category that has proven difficult for other companies. Standalone AI devices such as Humane's AI Pin and Rabbit's R1 both faced criticism after launch for underdelivering relative to expectations.
