Report: Huawei Is Now The Most Profitable Android Smartphone Brand In The World For 2016!

The start of the new era? Based on the recent report of ibtimes.co.uk from Strategy Analytics research firm, Huawei has beaten Samsung to become the most profitable Android device maker in the world this year of 2016!

While Samsung has surpassed all Android phone makers in terms of volume and value of devices shipped, the profit of the South Korean electronics giant has suffered due to the unfortunate Galaxy Note 7 fiasco. As a result, the top 3 emerging Chinese Android smartphone maker has surpassed or equaled them - Huawei, Oppo, and Vivo.

For the global smartphone profit, Apple is remains to be the usual leader with 91% of profit earning a total of USD 8.5B this 2016. They're followed by Huawei with 2.4% at USD 200M, then Oppo, Vivo, and Samsung with 2.2% share each at under USD 200M.

"Three of the world's top four most profitable smartphone vendors are currently Chinese. Huawei, Vivo and Oppo have not only improved their smartphone product line-ups this year, they have also enhanced their operational abilities and kept a tight lid on expanding distribution costs," said Strategy Analytics director Linda Sui.

Those success by Huawei, Oppo, and Vivo came from making affordable premium devices. Huawei focused in making phones with great photography capabilities with their Leica camera partnership, Oppo with the #SelfieExpert mantra, and Vivo with audiophile grade phones.
