1. Huawei Mate 10 / Mate 10 Pro - At PHP 32,990 and PHP 38,990 respectively, the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro is simply the best Huawei has to offer in 2017. The Mate 10 has a 5.9-inch QHD IPS display at 498 ppi. It houses a 64-bit 2.36GHz HiSilicon Kirin 970 octa-core processor with a Neural Processing Unit that handles the A.I. It also has a MaliG72MP12 GPU along with 4GB of RAM, a 64GB expandable storage and a 4000mAh battery with 5A Super Charge capability. 

The Mate 10's camera setup is what you would expect from Huawei. It has a dual rear camera setup that sports a 20MP f/1.6 monochrome sensor + 12MP f/1.6 RGB sensor with 4-in-1 Hybrid AF, OIS, 2x optical zoom, and dual tone LED flash. The selfie camera, on the other hand, has an 8MP f/2.0 sensor with screen flash.

The Mate 10 Pro sports almost identical specs except for a slightly bigger 6-inch FHD+ OLED display, a bigger 6GB of RAM and 128Gb expandable storage. It also has a better IP67 splash and dust resistance and a HiFi DAC.

2. OnePlus 5T - At PHP 26,990, the "flagship killer" from OnePlus is really living up to its name. It has a 6.01-inch FHD Optic AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 5 Protection. It houses a 64-bit 2.45GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor, Adreno 540 GPU, 6GB LPDDR4X RAM, 64GB of UFS 2.1 storage and 3,300mAh battery with Dash Charge 4A.

It has a rear dual camera setup with a 16MP f/1.7 Sony IMX398 + 20MP f/1.7 Sony MX376K sensors with PDAF, EIS, 2x Zoom, and dual LED flash. The selfie camera sports a 16MP f/2.0 sensor with EIS. 

You can opt for the PHP 30,990 variant that has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage.

3. HTC U11 - At PHP 36,990, the HTC U11 is one of HTC's comeback phones in the Philippines. It has a 5.5-inch QHD SuperLCD5 display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Along with that, it has a 64-bit 2.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor, Adreno 540 GPU, 6GB of RAM, 128GB expandable storage and a 3,000 mAh with Quick Charge 3.0.

On the camera side, it has a 12MP f/1.7 with Dual Pixel technology, OIS and dual tone LED flash. It also has a 16MP f/1.7  sensor up front.

4. Samsung Galaxy Note 8 - At PHP 49,990,  the Note 8 is the best Samsung has to offer. Yes, the S8 is a contender but in terms of overall performance the Note 8 outshines it. It has a tall 6.3-inch WQHD Super AMOLED display with Curved Infinity Display and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

It houses a 64-bit 2.3GHz Exynos 8895 octa-core processor, Mali G71, 6GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage and a 3,300mAh battery with fast charging and wireless charging.

It has a dual rear camera setup that houses a 12 MP f/1.7 RGB sensor + 12MP f/2.4 telephoto lens with Dual Pixel, Dual OIS, multi-frame, dual tone LED flash. It has an 8MP f/1.7 selfie camera with AF, wide angle lens and screen flash. A great plus is the Intelligent S Pen.

5. Apple iPhone X - With prices starting at PHP 64,490, people are skeptic of its bang-per-buck-ability. However, the iPhone X is still one of the best premium flagships this year. The iPhone X has a 5.8-inch OLED True Tone display. It houses a 64-bit Apple A11 Bionic hexa-core processor with NPU. The Bionic chip is mainly used for the new FaceID and Animoji.

It has 3GB of RAM, either a 64GB or 256GB storage and a battery that can last up to 12 hours with Qi Wireless Charging. The dual rear camera sports a 12MP f/1.8 sensor + a 12MP f/2.4 sensor with 2x optical zoom, OIS, laser AF, PDAF and dual LED flash. The selfie camera, on the other hand, 7MP f/2.2 sensor. It has a myriad of sensors that is found on the infamous notch at the top of the display that is mainly utilized for FaceID as well.

6. Sony Xperia XZ Premium - At PHP 45,490, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium is a great pick if you don't mind relatively big bezels. It has a 5.5-inch 4K HDR Triluminos Display at 807ppi with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is housing a 64-bit 2.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor, Adreno 540 GPU, 4GB of RAM with 64GB of expandable storage and 3,230mAh battery with Qnovo Adaptive Charging.

The main camera has a 19MP f/2.0 1/2.3 inch Exmor RS with Motion Eye, Hybrid AF, SteadyShot, and dual tone LED flash. The selfie camera has a 13MP f/2.0 1/3.06 inch Exmor Sensor.

It is IP68 certified as well. It also has HiFi audio.

7. Nokia 8 - At the PHP 29,990, 5.3 inch QHD IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It has a 64-bit 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor, Adreno 540 GPU, 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage, and 3,090mAh battery.

It has a dual rear camera setup sports a 13MP OIS + 13MP monochrome f/2.0 with PDAF, IR range finder, and dual tone LED flash. 13 MP f/2.0 with PDAF and 78.4 degrees wide angle lens.

8. LG G6 Plus - At PHP 30,990, the G6 Plus is the bigger and better version of LG G6. It has a 5.7 inch QHD+ display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is housing a 64-bit 2.4GHz Snapdragon 821 quad core display, Adreno 530 GPU, 6GB LPDDR4 RAM with 128GB UFS 2.0 storage expandable up to 2TB via microSD card and a 3,300mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0.

The dual camera setup has a 13MP f/1.8 with OIS + 13MP f/2.4 wide angle sensor with PDAF and dual tone LED flash. The selfie camera sports a 5MP f/2.2 wide angle sensor. It also has an IP68 certification, quad HiFi DAC, and wireless charging capability.

Note: The LG V30+ is now in pre-order in the Philippines too, that's a better phone than the LG G6 Plus.
