One of the most unique and promising cooling solutions we've seen is the new HydroFlow Liquid Cooling of the Infinix GT 50 Pro. This promises PC-style liquid cooling to a phone to allow gamers to enjoy 144 FPS gaming.

With upgrades in performance, battery, and more, does the global AI tax price hike hold up?

Stable performance, superb gaming

Benchmark scores of Infinix GT 50 Pro
Benchmark scores of Infinix GT 50 Pro

The Infinix GT 50 Pro generally has near-sub-flagship internals for speedy daily tasks, photo or video editing, social media streaming, and even running demanding games.

Speedy, stable performance

In particular, the handset is powered by the 3.25GHz 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultimate octa-core processor with Mali-G720 MC7. Infinix even paired it with fast 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage.

Our unit has 256GB of memory. This is ample storage for apps, games, photos, videos, and more. But for those who can spend a bit more, go for convenience and to have room for twice the apps, games, and more.

Benchmark scores

AnTuTu 11 - 2,060,404
Geekbench - 1,587 Single-Core Score, 5,407 Multi-Core Score
3DMark Wild Life Extreme - 3,920 Overall Score, 23.47 Average frame rate, 80% better than competition
AI Benchmark - 4,676

All scores are significantly higher than the previous generation GT 30 Pro, translating to a better overall actual experience for the GT 50 Pro.

In comparison, this is a bit of a step-up in performance in speed versus most similarly priced phones with Snapdragon 7 Gen 4

Gaming experience

MLBB gameplay
MLBB gameplay

My experience? The handset performed as well as expected. It's snappy, apps load fast, switching from one app to another is a breeze, can load multiple browser tabs, and can generally handle everything a normal casual smartphone user needs.

Yes, there are no issues even for CapCut Pro video editing, Snapseed photo editing, and even Facebook live streaming.

When it comes to gaming, Infinix claims that this one is Esports-ready with up to 144 FPS support.

Filipino Mobile Legends: Bang Bang players will enjoy playing with this one. It supports up to 144 FPS high frame rate with Ultra map quality, Standard model quality, High effects quality, and HD resolution.

I can feel why it deserves to be the official gaming phone of MPL Philippines

Actual experience is great, there is no lag or whatever during clashes for 2 straight games, with an average of 20 minutes per game.
CODM 144 FPS settings
CODM 144 FPS settings

At Call of Duty: Mobile, Max graphic quality is supported, but only up to 60 FPS. To experience 144 FPS with minimal motion blur and almost no ghosting for smooth overall gameplay in multiplayer mode, switch to Medium graphic quality.

Heavier titles like Genshin Impact will struggle to remain playable with about 30 FPS at medium-high settings combo.

The GT 50 Pro is said to handle over 28 mobile titles with official High Frame Rate certification with no overheating.

The cooling

Speaking of heating, the main highlight of the phone is the HydroFlow Liquid Cooling.

How? At its core are dual ceramic micro‑pumps that actively circulate coolant through laser‑engraved channels at up to 6.5ml per minute.

Watch below.

Infinix explains that this liquid flows directly over the CPU, GPU, and battery, delivering industry‑first 100% coverage of the motherboard's primary thermal zones.

And yes—you can actually watch the coolant move through the transparent rear window, giving the phone a gaming‑rig aesthetic.

Effective cooling

From there, the heated liquid is routed into a massive 3D vapor chamber, about 30% larger than last year’s design, where it disperses heat across aerospace‑grade graphite.

The result A cooler sustained performance, stable high‑frame‑rate gaming without throttling, and a thermal solution that sets the GT 50 Pro apart from conventional smartphones.

With this, the user can switch between Smart, Normal, and Rapid flow modes depending on how heavy the task they are doing.

For most of the things I do, even for shooting 4K videos, the Smart mode is enough. For heavier gaming, select the Rapid flow.

More demanding gamers may even use the GT Magcharge Cooler 2.0 with wireless bypass charging and 12W active thermoelectric cooling (active refrigeration).

never really needed the extra MagCharge Cooler or Rapid Flow mode since I only play occasionally and usually in air‑conditioned spaces.

Testing a bit of MLBB and CODM in our garage without AC, the phone does warm up (not alarmingly hot), but gameplay stays stable—the only trade‑off is slightly faster battery drain.

Overall, the cooling solution of this device ensures smoother gameplay, longer comfort, and better overall efficiency compared to traditional cooling methods.

The battery

The battery
The battery

The Infinix GT 50 Pro has a 1,000mAh increase over its predecessor. AND yes, even if the phone is slim at 8.2mm, it packs a 6,500mAh large capacity.

And that extra oomph translates in real-life. For everyday use as a normal smartphone as a content creator who checks social media all the time, takes photos and videos here and there, it lasted me 10 hours before reaching the 40% mark. In theory, this means that I can still use the phone for about half a day before charging the next day.

For gaming, a 20-minute MLBB match, I only lost 3% of the battery. In theory, that's roughly 11 hours of nonstop MLBB gaming before hitting empty.

There was a time when I did all the benchmarks and game tests for about 5 hours of screen time, and I was still left with 40% capacity.

Only time will tell, but the Infinix GT 50 Pro introduces AI Battery Self‑Healing Technology, engineered to slow down wear and extend the life of its large 6,500mAh cell.

Unlike standard batteries, this one is rated for up to 1,600 charging cycles—roughly double the typical smartphone lifespan. Lab tests show the AI system can actively recover about 1% of lost capacity every 200 cycles, helping preserve healthy charging performance over the years.

For direct wired charging, it took us 40 minutes from 0 to 50%. A full charge requires about 1 hour and 10 minutes.

The GT 50 Pro also supports bypass charging on both wired and wireless setups, letting you enjoy non‑stop gaming without worrying about battery drain. By directing power straight to the system instead of cycling through the battery, it helps reduce heat buildup and contributes to longer‑lasting battery health over time.

Gaming-ready display

Immersive display for entertainment and gaming

The GT 50 Pro sports a 6.78‑inch LTPS AMOLED panel with a crisp 2644 x 1208 resolution, blazing 4,500‑nit peak brightness, and a smooth 144Hz refresh rate.

It's tuned for Esports‑level responsiveness, with a 330Hz base touch sampling rate that can ramp up to 2800Hz, making every tap and swipe feel instant.

Responsive display, great picture quality

While it isn't LTPO yet, the display is genuinely impressive. It has slim bezels, immersive viewing, vibrant colors, and deep blacks that showcase the strengths of high‑quality AMOLED.

In real use, the screen responds quickly, supports 10‑point touch, and stays bright enough even outdoors, whether you're reading or watching videos. I’m genuinely happy with the screen quality, and the bonus of stereo speakers with Hi‑Res audio makes the overall experience even more enjoyable.

Displays better than this are LTPO, and you will find them on phones twice as expensive as this. It is also good for your on-the-go HD Netflix experiences, consuming vlogs on YouTube, and enjoying social media posts.

Checked on YouTube, users may even enjoy above 1080p HDR on supported content.

The triggers

Pressure‑Sense GT Triggers
Pressure‑Sense GT Triggers

The Pressure‑Sense GT Triggers are designed for serious mobile gamers, adding tactile, mechanical shoulder buttons on the right side of the device that deliver precise input and double as customizable shortcuts.

These provide a console‑like feel, giving players extra control layers beyond the touchscreen.

In first‑person shooters, I found them particularly useful, which helped me navigate maps faster, aim more accurately, and react to enemies with greater speed. For competitive play, these triggers may truly elevate performance by making controls more intuitive and responsive.

The rest of the features

Infinix also equipped the GT 50 Pro with a full suite of connectivity options tailored for mobile gamers, including Wi‑Fi 6, 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.4, FM Radio, NFC, GPS, and dual nano‑SIM support. In everyday use, all of these work reliably, with WiFi and 5G delivering particularly strong performance in areas with solid signal coverage.
The cameras
The cameras

The device features a versatile rear camera setup highlighted by a 50MP f/1.59 main sensor with autofocus, paired with an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide lens offering a wide 111.4-degree field of view. This combination is supported by a rear dual flash for improved low-light performance.

The resolution of the primary camera is lower than the 108MP of the GT 30 Pro, but it now has a faster and brighter f/1.9 aperture. Our experience, particularly with the primary camera, is great in different lighting situations.

The ultra-wide could be better in dim indoor and low light, but at least it is decent in daylight and well-lit conditions.

On the front, it carries a 13MP f/2.2 selfie camera designed to deliver clear and detailed self-portraits, making it well-suited for both everyday snapshots. To our surprise, this is a high-quality 13MP snapper.

See some sample shots below.

The handset also records up to 4K 60fps with fast autofocus and minimal ghosting using the primary camera and 1080p 60fps for the ultra-wide.

Even if there is OIS for stabilization and cropped Ultra Steady with the help of the software, a bit of shake is still present, but tolerable for a non-camera-focused smartphone.

For selfies, I also liked that it records up to 4K 30fps. If you have steady hands or own a tripod, this might be great enough for vlogs, vertical reels, or TikToks.

Its microphones also demonstrate impressive sensitivity, capturing voices clearly even when spoken softly. This makes it particularly useful for recording videos in public settings, as it allows for discreet audio pickup without causing unnecessary disturbance to those around you.

The Infinix GT 50 Pro runs on Android 16 with Infinix's XOS 16 skin, offering a mix of gaming‑centric tools, AI enhancements, and personalization features.

It generally delivers smooth performance, long‑term updates, and a highly customizable experience for both everyday use and Esports‑level gaming.

Gamers may also GT Zone to customize the GT Trigger, Mechanical Light Waves, and Liquid Cooling.

When running games, users may also swipe from left to access XBoost AI, the phone's performance manager.

It combines several smart systems: an AI Frame Rescue Engine that prevents frame drops, thermal detection that works with HydroFlow cooling to manage hotspots, and Hardcore Esports Mode that blocks distractions while prioritizing CPU and GPU resources.

It also integrates with the Pressure‑Sense GT Triggers for customizable shortcuts and automates certain in‑game actions.
