The newly launched OPPO A83 has one of the better cameras under PHP 10K. But, the question is, can it compete with the quad cameras of Flare S6 Plus?

Scene 1 - Daylight outdoor
Close call! Both delivered natural looking colors with great details as expected. Dynamic range are equal. But, I will give this round to OPPO. It has more details in the sky and has slightly wider range. OPPO A83 - 1 point
Scene 2 - Indoor good dining lighting
Another really close call! The bread from newly opened Pizza Express Philippines looks really good on the main cameras of both phones! For me, its a tie! OPPO A83 - 2 points / Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Plus - 1 point
Scene 3 - Indoor zoom
Both phones has zoom. OPPO uses digital zoom while Cherry Mobile has a dedicated secondary 5MP sensor for zooming. However, OPPO's digital zoom is way ahead than the real zoom of Cherry Mobile. It is simply has the truer colors and sharper details. OPPO A83 - 3 points
Scene 4 - Indoor close-up
Cherry's depth is a deep or better than OPPO's, but OPPO A83's color reproduction is more natural than the Flare S6 Plus on this scene. Some of you may think that Cherry's color accuracy is better, but the shrimp's color really looks like that in person. OPPO A83 - 4 points
Scene 5 - Lowlight outdoor
Both aren't that impressive in lowlight. Cherry's Flare S6 appears to produce the brigher and sharper photo on first look. But, the A83 produced the cleaner output with less grain and lens flare. Colors are truer on the A83 too. OPPO A83 - 5 points
Scene 6 - Daylight selfie
Both are capable selfie shooters in daylight. OPPO delivered the more eye pleasing colors, but my selfie looks more natural on the Flare S6 Plus this time. My pores and striples on the shirt are more detailed on Cherry's dual selfie camera too. Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Plus - 2 points
Scene 7 - Selfie portrait lowlight
OPPO's color reproduction and depth of field is amazing for a phone with single selfie camera setup. On the other hand, Cherry Mobile produced the image with better details and beautification. Close call, we will give it a tie. OPPO A83 - 5 points / Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Plus - 3 points
Verdict
The score is 5 to 3 in favor of OPPO A83. It is refreshing to see a camera phone with single camera setup to perform this well for the price.
On the other hand, Cherry Mobile's Flare S6 Plus with quad cameras did well too. It's actually better than most Cherry Mobile phones we tested in the past.
However, the cameras of OPPO A83 is amazing for a sub PHP 10K phone.
