With A.I. soon!

The Android 8.0 Oreo beta update packs a number of new features with it for the Nova 2i. We are going to list it down in a manner that it is easier to understand for everyone. Sometimes, update logs can be a bit confusing even for us. We are going to highlight the biggest changes only as well.

User Interface

The update will come with a new UI for the Nova 2i which will be the EMUI 8.0. EMUI 8.0 promises to be more intuitive, faster and safer. They want to prioritize functionality and smooth navigation over looks.

Navigation Dock

There will be a new floating navigation dock that will let you perform frequently-used operations. Homescreen Shortcuts will also be created for your most used applications. The floating navigation dock can be dragged and accessed anywhere in the screen. To enable the feature, you can go to Setting > System > Syetem Navigation > Navigation Dock or Drop Down Status Bar > Navigation Dock.

App Shortcuts

You can now create app shortcuts on your device launcher to pin your frequently used apps. You can long tap on the launcher until the Shortcut Menu appears. You can also tap and drag a shortcut to easily pin it.

A.I. Based Optimization

A.I.- based optimizations will help your Nova 2i stay as fast and efficient as it can be. The A.I. will learn from your habits and it will look for ways so that the system boots faster, activities like videos and images load faster and more fluid.

There are some smaller quality of life changes like improvement on the settings layout, the usual Google Security Patches, a simplified Phone Manager app and more that you can see for yourself once the update reaches you.

Reminders for those who are upgrading to the latest Nova 2i platform and OS:

Make sure that you are doing it over WiFi as the update itself is 3.15GB in size. More than 50% of battery life is also highly recommended. Also make sure that you have enough storage for the download of the update.

Stay tuned for more info!
