Huawei to use a massive 6.9-inch AMOLED panel for an upcoming "Mate" device!

Based on a new report from Korea, Huawei has placed orders for 6.9-inch flat Samsung AMOLED panels.

Huawei will use those panels to a device that will launch in Q4 2018 or Q1 2019. Based on those alleged dates, it could be the screen for the upcoming Huawei phablet. We won't be surprised if it will be the on the Mate 20.

The 6.9-inch AMOLED panel of this upcoming device is the biggest on a higher-end smartphone yet.

According to the report of TheBell Korea, Huawei has chosen this huge type of display to easily beat the possible 6.38-inch and 6.46-inch screens of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Apple's bigger version of the iPhone X in terms of screen real estate.

It is also because the Chinese market prefer bigger screens with large tech area for Chinese characters.

Currently, Huawei is still the leading smartphone brand in China.
