Aside from its flagship-grade performance, the Honor Play also has interesting cameras. It has a dual cameras at the back and a single selfie shooter in front.
More than just a gaming phone

To be exact, it goes with
16MP f/2.2 + 2MP f/2.4 shooters behind and a single 16MP f/2.0 snapper for selfies.

At the back, it has PDAF and CAF for faster and more accurate focus. It also has dual-tone LED flash for taking lowlight snaps.

Moreover, the Kirin 970 processor of this "gaming phone" has a flagship-grade ISP.

The ISP (Image Signal Processor) is the one responsible for controlling autofocus, exposure, white balance, HDR, noise reduction, and more.

It means that it can help in improving the cameras of this handset.

In addition, this device has most of the camera modes found on other higher-end Huawei devices.

Have a look!

Okay! The Honor Play can shoot too! The main cameras can produce images with plenty of details and good dynamic range. The colors are surprisingly accurate when the AI is off.

The AI of this camera could help you take better photos 3/5 times. But, it could oversaturate or sharpen the images at times.

Lowlight performance could compete with most at this price point.

Then, if you have a tripod, you can also take advantage of its pro mode, light painting mode, and night mode for better lowlight images.

The selfie camera is IMPRESSIVE. The selfies we got can compete with other phones with over 20MP resolution. To my eyes, it can go toe to toe with the selfie cam of the OPPO F7 and Vivo V9.

So far, the output we got is above average at this price point.

It is not perfect, but it is impressive for a gaming phone with super affordable price tag.
