5 highlights of Huawei's upcoming EMUI 9.0 skin

Huawei announces the new EMUI 9.0 which is the latest iteration of the company's proprietary Android-based OS. It is now based on Android Pie.

EMUI 9.0 is said to be designed to enhance users' quality of life and experience. It is also one of the first custom OS running on Android Pie. As of now, it is currently on beta and is now open for registration for European Huawei users. More features will be launched alongside the Huawei Mate 20 series.

5 New Features of Huawei's EMUI 9.0

1. Smoother system operation - The EMUI 9.0 OS is designed to feel more natural and streamlined. Huawei reimagined how the settings to minimize the number of steps to do things. With this, system operation is 12.9 percent faster compared with EMUI 9.0 compared to its predecessors. It also has faster app launch times such as Instagram, Amazon and Spotify with improvement of 11 to 16 percent faster.

2. GPU Turbo 2.0 - EMUI 9.0 will have GPU Turbo 2.0 out of the box. GPU Turbo 2.0 is the second iteration of Huawei's graphics processing acceleration technology. It now can support more games and at a greater capacity. It can intelligently optimize heavy workloads and give the Huawei devices a performance boost when needed with less power consumption. It also improves touch responsiveness, network connectivity and more.

3. HiVision - EMUI 9.0's HiVision enables the camera app to recognize major landmarks and famous paintings. It will then provide users with information using AR. It is a point-and-shoot feature which can provide history and interesting facts about the subject.

4. Password Vault - EMUI 9.0 provides more security with Password Vault. Users can store their passwords in their device with encryption protected by fingerprint or face recognition. This also allows for faster access of passwords when needed.

5. Digital Balance Dashboard - To help users have an enhanced and balanced lifestyle, EMUI introduces the Digital Balance Dashboard which shows and tracks device usage. Users can then set a usage limit for each app. It also has the Wind Down feature that prepares users before bed.
