Seagate led the panel discussion for a safe city practice that gathered the key people of country's government agencies and industry experts.

Safe City Best Practice Panel Discussion

Ida Ong-Co, Country Head of Seagate Philippines opened the program mentioning how important it is for everyone to live in a safe city. She was followed with an informative presentation from Sir Bernardo Florece Jr., DILG Undersecretary for Peace and Order.

Undersecretary Florece, discussed the vision and mission of the Department of Interior and Local Government with regards to more safe cities in the country. He also mentioned that Manila ranked 55th among the 60 safe cities in the world.

The Philippines is behind or late from its neighboring countries. But we need to embark on this [safe city], said Bernardo Florece Jr., DILG Undersecretary for Peace and Order.

Meanwhile, Bong Nebrija, Commander TF Special Operations for MMDA, spoke about the current technology we have in our major roads that help in making Manila a safe city. These includes software, CCTVs, and other necessary technology.

Executives from Seagate and Synology mentioned of the products they can offer for a better surveillance of the city. Seagate's specialized surveillance 14TB storage where it can manage to support up to 64 HD cameras 24/7 and 4K is also ready. 

Overall, the safe city best practice panel discussion went well. And we're all hoping for a better Manila and all cities in the country. The program was hosted by Sir James Deakin.
