It is a headband-style around ear headphones with key improvements coming from the previous WH-1000XM2 model. Sony upgraded its noise-cancelling performance to enhance listening experience.

QN1 processor |
To block noise, it has a newly developed HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN1. It has approximately four times better performance versus the old processor.

What's included in the package |
According to Sony, newly-developed component can not only negate transport noise like its predecessor, but also further cancels out daily background sounds such as street noise and human voices.
It even has Dual Noise Sensor technology which captures ambient noise using dual microphones to cancel noise.
Sony also added the Atmospheric Pressure Optimizing feature which makes the headphones great for flying. Its sensor can detect air pressure around you and optimize noise-cancelling accordingly.
For audio quality, Sony made sure that it will also sound great. It features a 40 mm dynamic driver with LCD (Liquid Crystal Polymer) diaphragm to handle heavy beats and produce a wide range of up to 40kHz frequencies.
Sony also claimed that the HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN1 can also detect high quality audio with 32-bit Audio Signal Processing to offer "best-in-class" signal-to-noise ratio, and low distortion for portable devices.
You can also customize the listening experience on the headphone app of Sony.
The headphones has 30 hours of battery life if the noise-cancelling feature is on. It has up to 38 hours when it is off. It also has a quick charge function via USB Type-C.
Sony claimed that 10 minutes of charging can provide up to five ours of wireless playback.
