On the first day of October (EDT), cities of Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, and Sacramento in USA just have their 5G network live through the Verizon carrier. The mobile network started installations today of the 5G Home broadband internet service in those cities with a Houston resident named Clayton Harris, as the first 5G customer in the world.

Verizon 5G Home is built on its own open-led 5G TF network standard. This is the next generation of super-fast WiFi.

The world’s first commercial 5G service is here, said Ronan Dunne, President, Verizon Wireless. We’ve formed incredible partnerships with many of the world’s leading technology companies, the international technical standards bodies, public officials, developers and our own customers to drive the 5G ecosystem forward, faster than most had predicted. And now, actual customers. It’s been an incredible journey...and we’re just at the starting line.

These four cities were able to become the first one to be 5G-powered because of its forward-looking state policy and local leaders who embraced innovation and developed a strategic vision. 5G network is believed to attract new investments, businesses, and next generation services for residents.

Meanwhile, Globe has announced a few months ago that they will bring the 5G network in the country by Q2 of 2019 in partnership with Huawei. The same rollout date will be similar with Smart who boasts of more than 14Gbps 5G network speed test!

Ericsson also showed their 23Gbps 5G network speed test on August and stated that they will officially launch it by 2019.

How excited are you for the 5G network in the country next year?
