In India, Counterpoint Research reported that Realme is the new number 4 smartphone brand in India last Q4 2018.

Realme entered the top five smartphone brands in India

Realme entered the top five smartphone brands in India when they surpassed OPPO. Realme is a sub-brand by OPPO that was launched just last May of 2018.

This data showed that Realme sold a lot of Realme C1, Realme 2, Realme 2 Pro, and Realme U1 in India. It also makes them one of the fastest growing smartphone brand in the world.

To recall, India is the world's second biggest smartphone market with over 1.36 billion population.

Realme phones are mostly sold online. In India, online share of smartphone shipments reached a record of 36 percent during the year because of the strong performance of Flipkart and Amazon.

Only Vivo, Samsung, and Xiaomi are ahead of Realme at the number 3, 2, and 1 spots in that country.

Meanwhile, Realme is on expansion mode in the Philippines. The young brand targets to expand to over 1,000 stores nationwide.
