Right on schedule, Nokia unleashed the Nokia 2.2. It's a budget phone built under the Android One program with up to 2 years of major OS upgrade and 3 years of security updates.

Nokia 2.2 key specs and highlights

Currently, the phone runs with Android 9.0 Pie OS out of the box. It means that it will likely get the upcoming Android Q OS and even the unannounced Android R OS once it is out in the market.

As expected, it features a 5.71-inch HD+ TFT 19:9 2.5D curved glass display with tiny waterdrop-like notch. Inside, it is powered by the 12nm MediaTek Helio A22 quad-core processor with PowerVR GE8300 GPU.

The phone is paired with either 2GB RAM/16GB ROM storage or 3GB RAM/32GB storage. The internal storage is expandable up to 400GB with microSD. It runs with 3,000mAh battery.

The phone also features a 13MP f/2.2 main camera behind with LED flash, 5MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture size, 3.5mm headphone jack, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, GLONASS, and dual SIM slots.

Nokia 2.2 measures at 145.96 x 70.56 x 9.3 mm and weighs 153 grams.

It comes in steel and tungsten black colors for INR 6,999 (around PHP 5.2K) for the 2GB RAM/16GB ROM version and INR 7,999 for the 3GB RAM/32GB ROM variant.

It will go on sale from June 11 at Nokia's website and other retailers in other parts of the world.

We are unsure if HMD Global will bring it here in the Philippines yet.
