Based on new reports, Redmi might use Samsung's new 64MP ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor.

Redmi with 64MP cam?

The mass production for the said camera sensor is expected to begin the second half of 2019 and it might debut through a mysterious Galaxy A series phone as per PhoneArena.

Aside from Samsung itself, the sensor might also be featured in an upcoming Redmi phone in India.

As a quick recap, the new sensor uses the same 0.8μm-sized pixels as their current 48MP sensor. It produces 16MP images by merging four pixels into one using the Tetracell technology.

It also allows up to 100db real-time HDR, 1080p slow-motion videos, and Super PD PDAF technology.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi have several phones with a 48MP camera. It include the Redmi Note 7, Note 7 Pro, and Mi 9 family.

We are still unsure what model of Redmi phone it is. Let's stay tuned for further reports.
