Obviously, the score is not as high as 2019 flagship phones with 3 or more cameras as DxO counts the zoom and bokeh performance that could be enhanced by multiple cameras.

Pretty good for a mid-ranger with a single camera

BUT, its overall score is just a few points behind some 2018 flagships like the Pixel 3 and iPhone XR with 103 points each. Not bad for a phone with a single 12.2MP f/1.8 lens with OIS and Dual Pixel focus tech.

In particular, Pixel 3a even got pretty high 103 points for photos and respectable 95 points for videos.

For photos, it has good highlight detail in most lighting conditions, accurate target exposures, generally nice color rendering, fast and accurate autofocus, and good detail/coverage using flash.

For videos, it has low noise even in low light, autofocus is fast and repeatable, colors are bright and vivid even in low light, and it has effective stabilization.

DxOMark concluded that it is one of the best single-camera solutions in the market today due to its excellent computational processing. But, it can still can't compete with the best dual and triple-camera devices DxO tested.

What do you guys think?
