Samsung is still on top, but...

In particular, Samsung has led the market with 21 percent of the global market share or 78.4 million units shipped. It is equivalent to 8.4 percent YoY (year-on-year) growth due to the strong Note10 and Galaxy A series sales. To continue the momentum, the company will launch new A series phones and some of them have 5G.

The result? Despite the very strong showing of Huawei, Samsung was able to hold to its position as the top global smartphone vendor.

Huawei, on the other hand, got 17.6 percent of the global market share from just 13.7 last year. It is equivalent to 66.8 million units shipped this Q3 2019 or a 28.5 percent YoY growth.

Meanwhile, Apple's shipments were down by 4 percent.  OPPO is at number 4 and Xiaomi is at number 5.

The entire BBK Group (OPPO, Vivo, realme, and OnePlus) got a total of 20 percent of the global market share. Combined, the group is almost as big as Samsung.

Realme got the most impressive growth at 808 percent YoY.

If this mammoth growth from realme and the strong showings of OPPO, Vivo, and OnePlus continues, we won't be surprised if the entire BBK group will surpass Samsung in the near future.

What do you guys think?
