Dyson designs "CoVent" ventilator to support fight against COVID-19

In just 10 days from the day he received the call from the UK government to make 10,000 ventilators in support of the country's National Health Service in fighting the deadly Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), James Dyson has designed a new ventilator dubbed as the "CoVent".

According to Dyson, this ventilator will support a patient who is no longer able to maintain their own airways. He added that there is a significant shortage of this machine both in the UK and other countries in the world.

It is also designed to address 
to "address the specific needs" of Coronavirus patients. So, this machine is crucial to those types of patients.

Dyson said that the company's new ventilator can be manufactured quickly, efficiently, and at volume. A spokesperson of the company noted that that the ventilators would be ready by early April.

Dyson also wrote in a letter that he would also donate 5,000 units around the world to support the international effort to tackle the pandemic.

To recall, Dyson is a company best known for its vacuum cleaners and hand dryers

Apart from Dyson, CNN reported that UK firm Gtech is also working to produce ventilators and has already submitted two examples to the government for assessment.
