Huawei PH released a FREE COVID-19 diagnosis technology for hospitals

Huawei Philippines unveiled a Cloud technology program that uses artificial intelligence in diagnosing COVID-19.

Medical image analysis thru AI

Together with Huazong University of Science and Technology and Lanwon Technology, Huawei Cloud developed an AI-assisted quantitative medical image analysis service for COVID-19.

According to Huawei PH Vice President Guo Zhi, the tech giant is offering the service to hospitals in the Philippines that serves as COVID19 facilities. As part of its corporate social responsibility program, this service is for FREE.  Huawei Philippines Cloud Head Mr. Shen also added,

We want to partner with Government and Private-Run hospitals for this project. Partner hospitals will upload the CT Scan of patients to Huawei Cloud and a 3D rendition of the scan will be received by the medical professional in minutes.

Huawei Cloud's cutting-edge technologies are designed to perform the following tasks: computer vision and medical image analysis, output CT quantification. This is said to answer the shortage of imaging doctors who can accurately diagnose COVID-19, relieving the pressures of quarantines, and lessening the heavy workloads of doctors.

Moreover, this service also uses a computing capability of Huawei Ascend series AI chips to output the quantization result of a single case in seconds. AI + doctor review" is allegedly dozens of times quicker than manual quantitative image evaluation, which may result to increase in diagnosis efficiency.
