According to the latest report by market research firm Strategy Analytics, Xiaomi has surpassed Huawei based on smartphone shipments in February 2020.

Xiaomi surpasses Huawei's smartphone shipments month of February

Based on the report, Xiaomi has shipped 6 million units worldwide while Huawei shipped 5.5 million only. Samsung and Apple are at numbers 1 and 2 last Feb with 18.2 percent and 10.2 percent, respectively. OPPO and Vivo shipped 4.0 million and 3.6 million units for the 4th and 5th spots.
This is the first time that Xiaomi has re-entered the number 3 position since 2014.
The report revealed that worldwide smartphone shipments fell by 38 percent YoY to around 62 million units. Sales also dropped to 39 percent YoY or 65 million.
All of the above-mentioned brands dropped in sales. The drop in overall shipments is due to the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic.
Samsung dropped 13 percent and 17 percent in global shipments and sales. Apple is down by 32 and 29 percent, Huawei's shipments fell by 69 percent and 60 percent.
