Huawei patents Mate-like foldable phone with zoom in China

In 2019, Huawei filed a patent that showcases designs for a Mate-like foldable phone with a quad-camera module that contains a periscope zoom camera.

Tech giant Huawei filed a patent in China where the patent contains designs for a Mate-series foldable phone with a quad-camera module on one side. 

The foldable phone can bend inwards like the Samsung Galaxy Fold where the display covers most of the front-facing side.

At the back are the secondary display and the aforementioned quad-camera module with three round cameras and a fourth square camera. This square camera is speculated to be a periscope zoom camera. 

The selfie camera is no-where to be found. Most likely, it'll be like the Mate Xs where the primary cameras also act as the secondary camera when using the secondary screen.

The Huawei Mate Xs 5G foldable phone was launched in the Philippines early in April 2020 with a starting price of PHP 139,999. You can read more about it at this link.

Huawei is expected to announce a new foldable smartphone in the second half of 2020. Until Huawei makes an official announcement, take this information with a grain of salt.
