OPPO made successful video and voice calls on 5G

This brings high-quality 5G experience closer to fruition. The VoNR calls were made on a modified OPPO smartphone that houses a MediaTek's Dimensity 1000 series SoC using an end-to-end Standalone network powered by Ericsson Radio System products and solutions.

The successful joint test was carried out under the 5G SA network environment provided by Ericsson at its headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden. After dialing, the two phones connected almost instantly and then seamlessly switched to a high-definition video call with a single keypress.

VoNR is a basic call service that relies solely on a 5G network with an SA architecture. This service has significantly lower latency than earlier call services as well as improved sound quality and picture quality.

OPPO aims to ensure that even the early adopters of the 5G experience will have a more complete experience. OPPO prepares itself to be one of the best choices as a mobile partner for operators and communication equipment suppliers that are building 5G networks worldwide.
