Harvest Moon One World will offer new engine, graphics, and story

To recall, the Harvest Moon is a farm simulation role-playing game developed by Amccus for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. One World is the latest entry in the long-running farm life series, which is set to arrive on Switch later this year.

There were no trailers or screenshots yet but the game's official blurb gave away some details about its story. One World unfolds in some strange vegetable-less timeline where the characters are unaware of the power of a good cabbage. Allegedly, there's an old book to give clues regarding the relaxing farm life. This will kickstart the unhurried farm management and village life simulation.

According to the developer, One World will also feature new and familiar faces, unique villages, and adventurous challenges. President and CEO of Natsume Hiro Maekawa shared the following in a press release:

Harvest Moon: One World features a brand-new way of exploring Harvest Moon that seasoned players and new generations will both enjoy. Over the decades, Harvest Moon has evolved but has always retained the traditional, family-friendly farming fun that the franchise is known for. The new engine and new graphics will upgrade this experience for 2020. We are so excited to share more about the features of Harvest Moon: One World in the coming months.

More details will be unveiled soon as this game is going to be released this year in Europe. Stay tuned for updates.
