Like Twitter, Weibo detects the smartphone from where a post was made and posted. In the past, this was a way for the public to know if the user is using an unreleased smartphone that is currently in the works.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun recently posted on his official Weibo account a post that encourages the purchase of books along with an attached image of books. However, fans noticed that the post was created and posted with an Apple iPhone. This, in turn, resulted in fans being upset and took to social media to voice their frustration.

Lei Jun has since deleted the post and replaced it with a new post that was created and posted with the Xiaomi 10 Pro.

Pan Jiutang defended Lei with his post comment that says "It is hypocritical any claim by the owner or product manager of mobile phone brand not to have tried Apple, Samsung or other phones from competing brands. Innovations are sometimes copied and then improved upon.

This is not the first time a high-level executive was found publically using iPhones. Huawei CEO Richard Yu and realme CEO both have been seen using iPhones.
