Cash aid through PayMaya!

To improve its delivery of public service, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has worked with e-wallet service PayMaya to provide cashless distribution of financial aid to clients of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations. (AICS)

Individuals who qualify as indigent, marginalized, poor, or disadvantaged individuals or families may avail of the AICS program where they can get medical, educational, burial, or transportation assistance as immediate aid or safety net to help them cope and recover from any crisis situation.

Clients under the AICS program can then easily encash their cash aid from any of the 30,000 Smart Padala branches nationwide through their PayMaya accounts. They can then spend the cash for necessities like bills, groceries and personal care essentials through the PayMaya app.

This is not the first time that the DSWD has tapped PayMaya. Just last month DSWD has made PayMaya as one of the payment methods in ReliefAgad app where beneficiaries of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) may choose to receive their aid through their PayMaya accounts.
