MediaTek highlights the best features of the Helio G85

Right in between the G80 and G90T,  MediaTek said that the Helio G85 is designed to pump up the performance in affordable gaming smartphones.

Here are its main highlights.

Best features of Helio G85

1. 1GHz Graphics Core - Compared to the Helio G80 with 950MHz GPU, the Helio G85 uses a higher-clocked 1GHz Mali-G52 GPU for improved gaming performance.

2. MediaTek HyperEngine game technologies - The Helio G85 also uses the MediaTek HyperEngine game technology with complimentary enhancements to boost the gaming experience.

MediaTek said that it made this possible through intelligent resource management to ensure sustained performance and longer gameplay. It also uses reliable network connections that ensures that you are always connected as well as picture quality upgrades.

3. AI-Camera - The Helio G85 comes with boosted AI-camera tasks such as object recognition for apps such as Google Lens, Smart Photo Albums, and scene detection, segmentation with background removal, and Bokeh-shot enhancements.

4. Multi-Camera support - The Helio G85 allows multiple cameras like wide cams, zoom lenses, macro lens, and more.

5. Integrated Voice on Wakeup - Helio G85 integrates an ultra-low-power voice on wakeup engine that's ready for the brand's own assistants and even alternatives such as Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

6. Highly Accurate Inertial Navigation - Helio G85 is also designed to provide accurate location when underground, tunnels, or any situation where GNSS services are unavailable. 

7. Fast & Reliable WiFi - The chip comes with an integrated WiFi 5 tech. It also has Bluetooth and WiFi co-existence design to assure reliable connection when both technologies are used simultaneously such as streaming music to wireless headphones while being connected to the WiFi.

8. Dual 4G SIM with Dual VoLTE/ViLTE - Even if it is a budget chip, MediaTek noted that it has the company's DSDS (dual SIM, dual standby) tech that provides dual 4G LTE and 4G data. This means that it has a seamless user experience from either 4G data connected while VoLTE and ViLTE services from either connection (pending carrier support) provide the best call and live video experience, with faster call setup time and noticeably better sound quality.

Currently, Helio G85 is found on the Redmi Note 9 smartphone.
