OnePlus CEO allegedly returning to OPPO but will continue leading the company

Pete Lau, the founder and CEO of OnePlus, will start working for OPPO again after vacating the VP post for the latter.

To recall, Lau founded OnePlus back in December 2013 and the company had released fifteen successful smartphones. In fact, in 2019 the company had a turnover of over USD 1.9 billion. OnePlus also has more than 1,000 employees.

Currently, the newest phones of OnePlus are the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro.

The main purpose of Lau's work with OPPO is to improve company interaction and continue productive technology exchange. The goal of OnePlus is to share the best technology with the rest of the world. Working with OPPO will make way for another avenue to achieve this goal.

OnePlus and OPPO, along with Vivo and realme, belongs to BBK holding which eliminates the possibility of a conflict of interest affecting Lau's work. Instead, this will help every brand under BBK.

As for all rumors, take this with a grain of salt as information may change down the line.
