Welcome improvements

According to its report covering Q4 2017 and Q1 2020, the Philippines has seen impressive improvements in download speeds and 4G availability over the past two years. It showed that the country's average speed rose from 4.7 Mbps to 8.5 Mbps which translates to a massive 80.9 percent increase.

In addition, Opensignal added that another improvement in the last couple of years is 4G availability which is the measurement of users connected to 4G. It said that the rise in 4G availability especially in towns and rural areas helps boost businesses and government services, which is particularly important in this pandemic times.

Local telcos are not stopping here.

Following the issued Joint Memorandum Circular from ARTA, DICT, DILG, DPWH, CAAP, DOH, and FDA to streamline and make issues of permits easier, local telcos are further intensifying network rollouts.
