Redmi may soon launch an affordable phone with 108MP shooter

Known reliable leakster Digital Chat Station recently obtained a screenshot showing codenames of two possible smartphones under Xiaomi's Redmi brand—one of them is said to feature a 108MP camera.

108MP for less soon?

The codenames are believed to be Gauguin and Gauguin Pro. Gauguin Pro could be the one with the 108MP while the non-pro version might pack a 64MP main camera.

However, the specs of the handset hasn't been disclosed yet, but the leak suggests that its release date is drawing near.

Since it will be a Redmi-branded handset, there's a good chance that it will be the most affordable 108MP camera in the market yet. Handsets with 108MP camera are often priced higher.

To date, Xiaomi has several smartphones with a 108MP shooter including the first phone with 108MP camera Mi CC9 Pro/Mi Note 10. This year, the brand has released a flagship with the said Samsung 108MP shooter, the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro.
