Smart deployed 5G sites outside of Metro Manila, starts nationwide rollout

With a clear goal of becoming the leader of 5G in the country, telco giant Smart today shared that it is the first provider in the Philippines to fire up 5G in key cities outside of Metro Manila.

First 5G sites in Visayas and Mindanao

Following its initial rollout in Metro Manila, Smart shared that the company has rolled out 5G in key cities in Visayas and Mindanao. The sites are located in select areas in Boracay, Cebu, Iloilo, and Davao.

Apart from the above-mentioned VisMin sites, Smart announced an updated list of live 5G areas in Luzon.

It includes the Makati Central Business District (CBD), Bonifacio Global City CBD, Araneta City, Mall of Asia Bay Area, North Avenue in Quezon City, Taft Avenue in Manila, Ortigas CBD, New Clark City in Pampanga, EDSA, and in strategic locations in the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, and the cities of Manila, Quezon City, Makati, Taguig, Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Parañaque, Valenzuela, Caloocan, Navotas, San Juan, and Pasay.

Smart also announced that its 5G service is now available to all Smart Prepaid subscribers using Smart 5G-certified devices with 5G-activated SIMs.
