Happy Birthday, Instagram!
Did you know that Instagram was launched on this day 10 years ago? The social media giant debuted on October 6, 2010, using its original icon that maybe only a few of us can remember.
If you're one of those who want to change the Instagram app icon on your phones. Here are the few and easy steps:
1. Make sure that your Instagram app is updated to iOS version 162.0 or Android version 163.0.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Do a long swipe down on the screen to reveal some emoji.
4. Once you've swiped down far enough, the icons will be unlocked and you'll see a message from Instagram.
5. Choose from the icons you wish to switch your current app icon with!

The icons available include the classic Polaroid-style camera designs, themed variations on the current logo, too, including Pride rainbow colors and monochrome options. The app update also includes another feature: a private map and archive of your stories from the past three years.
However, it sounds like the icons will only be available during October. Instagram's message reads "this month we’re inviting you to change your app icon to your favorite."
Note that the feature is currently only confirmed on iOS devices with the latest update.
Update: It is now available for Android with the new 163.0 version update.
