TECNO CAMON 16 budget phone with Helio G70 and "Eye Autofocus" announced

In India, TECNO revealed more info about the CAMON 16 including its full specs, pricing, and availability details.

TECNO CAMON 16 is the lower-end version of the CAMON 16 Premier in Kenya, but it still looks great for an affordable smartphone.

Nice back design

The back still sports a 3D curved glass-like back with a square camera hump in Cloud White, Purist Blue, and Misy Grey colors. But, the fingerprint reader was moved from the side to the back panel below the cameras.

In the front, there's a 6.8-inch HD+ resolution display with a single punch-hole housing the 16MP selfie camera. TECNO boasts that its 16MP cam comes with Super Night Shot, 2K video recording, and Video Bokeh.

At the back, it uses a 64MP + 2MP macro + 2MP depth + 2MP AI quad-cam with Night mode 10x zoom, Slow-mo, and Video Bokeh.

TECNO also highlights that it has the "Eye Autofocus" to can "stabilize focus around the eye and make portraits sharp."

Similar to the CAMON 16 Premier, it uses the Super Night Shot TAIVOS AI camera optimization based on 10 million levels of the dark-skin database to optimize photo and video output quality.

In terms of specs, it sports the 12nm MediaTek Helio G70 octa-core processor with 2x Cortex-A75 2.0GHz power cores, 6x Cortex-A55 1.7GHz efficiency cores, and Mali-G52 MC2 GPU.

It is paired with 4GB RAM, 64GB expandable storage, expandable storage via microSD slot up to 256GB, and a 5,000mAh battery with micro USB 18W fast charging.

India price with direct to PHP conversion (no taxes and duties yet):

At Flipkart, the phone will be available starting October 16. There's no info yet if TECNO Philippines will launch the same device in the country as well.
