With that in mind, Huawei's release of its Classic Backpack is very timely. Along with the MateBook 14, the tech giant recently introduced its latest Huawei Classic Backpack here in the Philippines. It has an SRP of PHP 5,999. 

It's a stylish bag that can store a lot of things with a huge capacity. But is there more to this bag? Let's find out!

Premium materials of the backpack

Huawei used top-of-the-line materials for this backpack, high-quality nylon, and genuine leather. That virtue by itself speaks premium and class. This means you can say goodbye to rugged backpacks that make you look like a college kid.

This backpack brings enough sophistication, great for a corporate setting, or formal events.

We also think that Huawei did a great job on the design since it looks far from your typical laptop bags. Reportedly, they drew inspiration from Paris and Parisian architecture. It has a unique structure that allows the bag to hold its shape, to avoid looking frumpy.

The Huawei Classic Backpack only comes in two colors: Midnight Black and Forest Green. Some would think that the color options are too limited, but for me, this would work. You can choose the Midnight Black for versatility while the Forest Green is a standout color if you like wearing neutrals. Just note that these two differ in capacity and dimensions.

The Midnight Black variant supports up to 15.6-inch laptops with 11.5L capacity. It measures 415 x 215 x 135 mm and weighs 1,048 grams. Meanwhile, the Forest Green edition could be the one for those who are looking for a more compact laptop bag. It supports up to 14-inch laptops with 8.5 L capacity, measuring at 395 x 295 x 115 mm.

Another good thing is the flap design of this backpack as it adds character to its overall look. Also, it's practical since it provides a level of security for the user. Note that it uses a drawstring to open and close the main compartment. The downside is that it can be fussy during bag inspections.

At the back, you can see a strap that's meant for hanging the bag to a suitcase when traveling. The only decoration on it is the delicate gold-plated logo of Huawei. Inside, it sports a textured fabric as a lining with a print that looks like the letter H.

Now for wearing comfort, its ergonomic design makes it possible for the users of this Classic Backpack to have a pleasant carrying experience. The shoulder straps are thick and padded so that's a great thing. However, the strap on the lower end is a bit thin so there's that worry that it won't last for a long time.

Lastly, I love that the Huawei Classic Backpack is equipped with a lot of compartments. In this way, you can organize your personal things, devices, accessories so easily. No need to bring pouches for this purpose.

Aside from that, it's good for a backpack to have many compartments or pockets as much as possible. It helps in distributing the weight evenly across your body. Instead of piling all the heaviness on your lower back, the weight is divided over the length of your bag. Thus, it lessens your chance of suffering a nasty backache.

Quick thoughts

Overall, we think this is an excellent option if you're looking for work or a go-to bag for daily errands.

For persons who often commute, it would be nice if Huawei added features like waterproofing and an anti-theft mechanism though.

But, it won't change the fact that it's chic and versatile in terms of appearance and functionalities.

This is a bag that you could make you look good when you bring it to events. Moreover, it has a large storage capacity for all of your essentials. Also, it's easier to have an orderly bag with all of the compartments inside and outside. 

For a price of PHP 5,999, this is a good investment for your work and future travels.
