Similar to what Xiaomi did last December, South Korean firm Samsung has removed the in-box charger on the new Galaxy S21 line after mocking Apple.

In an effort to promote better sustainable choices and recycling habits, the Samsung Galaxy S21 series will come with a slimmer box with NO charger and earphones included in the packaging.

Moreover, Samsung said that they will gradually remove charger plugs and earphones in its future devices. The company claimed that this move will help address "sustainable consumption issues and remove any pressure that consumers may feel towards continually receiving unnecessary charger accessories with new phones."

Samsung also argued that this effort which helps in saving the environment is valid as the company has been implementing
USB-C type charging ports since 2017 making older chargers compatible with the newest Galaxy models.

Samsung won't be remaking all the boxes for its old products like Apple is doing. This will prevent its users from having a different experience from other buyers of the same phone on an earlier date.

The listing for the Note20 Ultra and Note 10 still shows a charger coming in the box.

In the Philippines, those who will pre-order the Galaxy S21 line will get a FREE 25W USB-C Fast Charging Wall Charger.

But if you won't pre-order the S21, Samsung's official 25W power brick retails for PHP 1,199.
