We unbox and share our first impressions of the new Cherry Mobile Aqua Infinity and its new design and large RAM and storage capacities.
Cherry Mobile Aqua Infinity

Cherry Mobile continues to surprise the PH smartphone market with the new Aqua Infinity with its massive 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage inside a more premium-like design.

Aside from those key features, it comes with the 12nm MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core processor, 4,000mAh battery, and a large 6.52-inch IPS display.

Let's see how it performs out of the box!

Unboxing/Accessories

Inside the box
Inside the box

The new smartphone comes in a black and teal colored box with the Aqua Infinity branding and renders.

Inside the box is the Aqua Infinity, 4,000mAh removable battery, silicone case, charging brick, USB Type-A to USB-C cable, 3.5mm headphones, and documentation.

There is no SIM ejector tool as the SIM slots are accessible once the backplate is removed.

Build Quality/Design

Removable backplate and battery

Out of the box, the Cherry Mobile Aqua Infinity has an eye-catching back design. It looks a lot like the premium Huawei Mate 30.

Mate 30-like back design, rare removable back cover!

In front is the glass panel, in the middle is a polished glossy silver frame and at the back is the removable polycarbonate matte textured backplate.

The backplate is removed and it doesn't flex when on the phone but when removed, the back panel has significantly more flex. When it's removed, it doesn't inspire confidence in terms of structural integrity. The matte texture does help reduce phone slippage.

The glossy silver frame is nice to look at but is a fingerprint magnet and is slippery.
Netflix on Aqua Infinity

In front of the Aqua Infinity is the large 6.5-inch IPS display with 1600 x 720 resolution with 2.5d curved scratch-resistant glass. Around the display are thin top and side bezels and a thicker chin bezel. On top is a V-shaped notch that houses the 8MP selfie camera.

At the back is the circle camera module with round patterned accents, LED flash, and Cherry Mobile branding.
Top and Bottom

On top is the 3.5mm headphone jack while at the bottom is the speaker grills, USB Type-C port, and microphone port.
Left and Right

On the right side of the phone are the volume rocker and the power button while on the left side is a smooth surface.

The silver glossy frame and the backplate curves make it easier to hold while the matte texture of the backplate reduces the chances of the phone slipping from your hand.
Rear camera module

At the back of the Cherry Mobile Aqua Infinity is a 12MP f/2.2 main camera, 20MP depth sensor, 2MP mono camera, and 2MP AI with LED flash.

While on the V-shaped notch is the aforementioned 8MP f/2.2 selfie camera.

Surprisingly, unlike the past few years, the Aqua Infinity does not come with Cherry's own version of apps. There is no bloatware and it comes out of the box with the usual Google apps, FM radio, and Voice recorder.

As of the moment

Great viewing angles out of the box!

As of the moment, the Cherry Mobile Aqua Infinity is a phone worth your consideration out of the box because it offers 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage out of the box for only PHP 7,999. This is has yet to be seen at this price range and the design of the phone itself is eye-catching.

MediaTek's Helio P60 chip is still a capable one and this phone is reasonably snappy for the price. Not bad so far.

Added bonuses is the fact that you have a removable battery which means you can purchase extra batteries for longer battery usage or if the battery loses its original performance, you can just buy a new one.

We will be running more tests and using the Aqua Infinity for a longer period of time so if you can wait, you may want to check out our review that will be coming out soon!

Stay tuned!
