DITO's technical audit starts

In a statement, the third telco player said it already informed the National Telecommunications Commission.

The audit of its network is aimed at testing if the group has the capacity to deliver its committed level of services.

For the first year, DITO promised to provide 27 megabits per second of speed, covering 37 percent of the Philippine population.

The field test, which covers a percentage of its 1,600 cell sites deployed across 8,800 barangays, would be completed within 30 days. Another 15 days will be needed to craft the final report.

DITO, backed by Davao's Dennis Uy and state-run China Telecommunications, has tapped independent auditor R.G. Manabat & Co.

For the past months, amid the difficulties posed by the current global pandemic, Dito has made great strides in the rollout to ensure that the results of the audit will be positive, said DITO Chief Administrative Officer Adel Tamano.

Tamano also insisted that the commercial launch of DITO would push through in March 2021.
