If you're looking for a much-needed camera upgrade, then take this as a sign. The all-new Fujifilm X-S10 caters to amateur, hobbyist, and professional photographers and filmmakers, as well as vloggers and content creators who are in the search for a handy camera to push their visual creativity further.
Featuring an In-body Image Stabilization (IBIS) system that is 30 percent smaller in volume and weight compared to the X-T4’s, the 450-gram X-S10 manages to deliver up to 6.0-stops of five-axis stabilization when paired with an assortment of 30 lenses in the Fujinon lineup. This is 1 to 1.5-stops better than the stabilization offered in the Fujifilm X-H1.
The X-S10 is also the first mid-range X Series camera to use a motion sensor retention mechanism, which is a mechanical shock absorber that guards against slight vibrations that may come from the shutter unit. Talk about stability to ensure that image clarity and resolution are maintained!
Combined with Digital Image Stabilization (DIS) and IS Boost Mode, videographers can expect smooth, buttery recordings similar to the X-T4 while shaving off some weight and size with the liberal use of magnesium alloy in the top and front plates of the body along the way.

The X-S10 packaging |
Deviating from the typical X-series aesthetics, the Fujifilm X-S10 dons a bulky grip similar to other DSLR units in the market. Its AUTO/SP (Scene Position) mode dial is also updated to automatically adjust shooting settings to suit a given scene. One can rotate the dial to the autofocus mode and the Film Simulation look that's perfect for casual photographers who are still getting the hang of photography. Speaking of the dial, users also have the liberty to save custom modes to take pictures using previously-saved shooting menu settings in a few rotates.

The well-loved vari-angle 180-degree touchscreen by vloggers is also present in the X-S10. It has the ability to pinch and zoom, select and shoot focus points and navigate through menu selections.

Also, proof that Fujifilm listened to customers is by attending to a small detail that makes a big impact—enabling to switch batteries without removing the tripod plate since the battery slot is now located beneath the grip together with the SD card. The unit can also be charged with a USB Type-C cable which is perfect in situations where you don't have the chance to plug your camera via a wall socket.
Deep diving more into the camera's capabilities, quick and accurate autofocus results is to be expected because of the X-S10's high-speed AF and AF-tracking performance with the X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor. Once in a lifetime moments can also be captured with ease because it is also equipped with high-precision Tracking Auto Focus and the camera's blackout-free high-speed burst shooting of 8fps with the mechanical shutter, 20fps with the electronic shutter without cropping, and 30fps at a 1.25x crop with the electronic shutter.

The Fujifilm X-S10's back part |
When it comes to video capabilities, filmmakers will rejoice because the camera has independent still and movie menus that separate settings between the photo and video functions of the camera. The X-S10 generates a 4K video from the amount of data equivalent to 6K to ensure the footage is high in resolution and low in noise. It can also support the recording of 4K/30p 4:2:0 8-bit video onto an SD camera inserted in the camera and 4K/30p 4:2:2 10-bit video via the mini-HDMI port.
If you're after producing cinematic slow-motion footage, the X-S10 is also capable of high-speed full-HD recording at 240p, producing up to 10x slow-motion footage of a fast-moving subject. In addition to X-S10’s IBIS, its Digital Image Stabilization (DIS) mode will powerfully compensate for any camera shake even when walking with the camera. Adding IS Mode Boost provides even more stabilization, nearly eliminating camera shake when it is used from a fixed, hand-held position.

Quick thoughts
As a hybrid shooter (photo and video), I feel like I won the lottery because I get to experience snippets of the Fujifilm X-T4 for a more affordable price tag. That's an estimate of PHP 40,000 price difference with the X-S10!
I can already visualize the creative possibilities I can create with the Fujifilm X-S10 such as straight out of the camera photos and videos. The vari-angle screen is also one of my favorite features because things became so much easier after being able to (finally!) see myself on the screen. The X-S10's aesthetics may have veered away from the rest of the X-series cameras, but its DSLR-like camera design is still pretty straightforward and can be learned when you tinker with the device for a day or two.
The all-new black body only X-S10 is available for PHP 55,990 (X-S10 Body only) and PHP 78,990 (X-S10 with 18-55mm Kit).
