Better telco services with Globe's network upgrades in Pampanga, Laguna, and Batangas

The firm in a statement on Wednesday, January 20, said the upgrade involves shifting to using 4G LTE technology from the old and obsolete 3G in the said provinces.

It noted those subscribers who are using 4G LTE SIM cards with a 4G LTE capable handsets can witness improved quality in calls, SMS, and data services.

These site upgrades that we have made in Pampanga, Laguna and Batangas will help improve data experience in the area and pave the way for 4G LTE to be our new standard of mobile data technology, said Joel Agustin, Globe Senior Vice President for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group.

Agustin urged the group's customers to embrace 4G LTE-ready SIMs to maximize the network's performance.

Globe previously said subscribers may check if they are still using 2G and 3G SIMs by texting SIM CHECK to 8080. If they want to upgrade to 4G LTE SIMs, Globe said they may set an online appointment or through the GlobeOne App before proceeding to the Globe Store for SIM replacement.

Our upgrades and improvement efforts will be for naught if our customers will not upgrade their SIM cards and mobile devices as soon as possible. We are doing our best to give them the best possible services but we also need their support and cooperation now to realize the promises and the many opportunities that the 4G LTE network brings, Agustin added.

Postpaid 3G users, on the other hand, can just tap the GlobeOne app to request fro SIM change. The new SIM will be delivered to their registered address by a courier.
