Malabon City files complaint vs DITO Telecommunity

The local government unit said the third telco player has been charged for violating Section 301 of Presidential Decree 1096 or the National Building Code of the Philippines last December.

Engineer Christian Uriarte of the City Engineering Office noted they informed the company before they filed the complaint, but the notices were ignored.

We have sent notices of violation after seeing that construction work for the cell site remain unhampered despite them not having a building permit but it was not acknowledged by the company, Uriarte said.

In the filing case against the small telco player, Uriarte said businessmen who do not abide by the rules are not welcome in Malabon.

Uriarte stressed DITO Telecommunity disrespected Malabon for building a cell site without securing permits.

So, they deserved to be arrested and charged for violating the National Building Code of the Philippines, he said.

DITO Telecommunity, backed by Davao's Dennis Uy and China Telecommunications, is set for commercial launch this March.
