How to use GInvest?
GInvest is the "Invest Money" investment marketplace feature of the GCash app. With this feature, users allowed users to invest in different investment funds from their partner product providers. Currently, GInvest is powered by partnerships with Seedbox Philippines and ATRAM.
To start investing, users should log-in first to their respective GCash accounts then tap GInvest on the dashboard. To see all options for investment, just go to 'Show More'. After that, they must register then answer a quick questionnaire for risk profiling. Once approved, they can subscribe to an investment fund or simply buy units. The subscription takes 1 to 2 business days.
There's an option to set a reminder so the user can invest money regularly. With GInvest, they can also track their investment and sell whenever they want. Selling units can take 2 to 3 business days to process.
Investment products on GInvest:
Unit Investment Trust Funds (UITF) - UITF is a financial instrument managed by a trust entity that will help you make the most of your money. The trust entity manages the pooled money from individuals and institutions within the acceptable risk parameters.
They do not earn through a fixed interest rate but grow in value depending on the assets it carries and the market. UITFs carry a risk of going down in value as the market moves.
- ATRAM Total Return Peso Bond Fund - The objective of the fund is to maximize the total return of a fixed-income portfolio that has moderate risk. It's relatively stable and for long-term investment.
- ATRAM Philippine Equity Smart Index Fund - This option is also meant for the long term but this is more aggressive compared to the previous one and can be volatile.
- ATRAM Global Technology Feeder Fund - This is also an aggressive type of fund for long-term investment, but it is exposed to advanced markets. The rise or fall of this fund is driven by the technological sector, from software, semiconductor, AIoT, and even cloud computing.
GCash users can invest as low as PHP 50 for PH instruments and PHP 1,000 for global.
