To commemorate the 25 million units sold of the Redmi Note 8 in 2019, Xiaomi recently introduced its 2021 edition.
The Redmi Note 8 2021 basically has the same look as the original Redmi Note 8, but with a different chipset. Instead of the aging Snapdragon 665, it is now equipped with the newer and more powerful 2.0GHz 12nm MediaTek Helio G85 octa-core processor with PowerVR GE8320 (680MHz) GPU. It also runs with the newer Android 11 OS with MIUI 12.5 skin.
The rest are identical, it is still using a 6.3-inch FHD+ notch display, 4GB RAM, 128GB expandable storage, and 4,000mAh battery with USB-C 18W fast charging (22.5W charger included in the package).
The handset also has a 48MP f/1.79 main cam + 8MP f/2.2 120-degree ultra-wide-angle + 2MP macro + 2MP depth quad-camera setup.
