iPads can now have a new quick-access button to make it easier to swap apps in and out of the Split View mode. This OS will also have a "shelf" to make other open windows accessible at the bottom of the display.

Also, it offers new widget layouts for the Home Screen and App Library so users can personalize their experience and organize their apps. Meanwhile, the iPadOS 15 lets you add mentions and tags to Notes.

The Quick Note feature that works with the Apple Pencil makes it so you can swipe up from the corner of the iPad screen and jot a note while using another app. This is a sort of quick-access mini-app that enables you to keep a scratchpad for work.

Moreover, the new OS comes with a Translate app which aims to make conversations easier and more natural. When using the app, Auto Translate detects when someone is speaking plus the language being used.

The face-to-face view of this app lets two users sit across from each other with an iPad between, so they can see translations of the conversation from their own side. The system also allows translation of text anywhere on the device, even handwritten ones.

Also, iPadOS 15 offers Focus, a new feature to reduce distractions. Basically, it works by filtering notifications based on the user's activity. They can set their device either by creating a custom Focus or selecting a pre-made one.

Users can also create Home Screen pages with apps and widgets that apply to moments of focus to only display relevant apps and lessen temptation. The device will show a new notification summary in a schedule chosen by the user.
