8 new towers, 84 sites upgraded in Batangas

Globe shared that out of the 84 sites upgraded, 52 locations were upgraded to 4G LTE from the old 3G network, a part of the company's expansion and modernization program in the province.

The new site builds and network upgrades are expected to bring better calls, SMS, and data browsing experience for its subscribers in the region.

Globe added that to experience the upgrades, Globe subscribers should upgrade their old 3G SIM cards to 4G LTE. Globe's customers in Batangas can keep their old numbers if quarantine protocols in their areas allowed them to go to the nearest Globe Store to change their SIM cards for FREE.

The subscriber must have a 4G LTE or 5G-ready device as well.

We encourage our customers in Batangas, especially the ones who are still using the old 3G SIM cards to switch to 5G-ready 4G LTE SIM cards and to upgrade their mobile devices into 4G LTE capable ones now for them to enjoy the difference in mobile experience brought by these network rollouts, Joel Agustin, Globe Senior Vice President for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group, said.

Globe customers in San Juan, Batangas upgrade their old 3G SIM cards to 5G-ready 4G LTE for free at the following stores:

  • Vergara's Store, Brgy. Calublub
  • 3M Sister, Brgy. Calublub 2
  • Bernadette Store, Brgy. Subukin
  • Crismar Store, Brgy. Laiya Ibabao
  • Prince Store, Brgy. Palahanan II
  • Arg Store, Brgy. Maraykit
  • Lyn Store, Brgy. Quipot

Globe said that the subscribers in the area can upgrade their SIM cards now until June 15, 2021.

These efforts are part of the company's aggressive builds and network expansion since last year
