ROG Phone 5s and 5s Pro brings an upgrade in the chipset department and touch display
Instead of using Snapdragon 888, the device is packed with Snapdragon 888 Plus. SD888+ is the overclocked version of SD888 with up 2.95GHz clock speed. The GPU is identical, it uses the Adreno 660 graphics. This chip also has an upgraded AI Engine with a 20 percent boost in performance at 32 TOPS. It is up from 26 TOPS of the SD888.
For the display, the two phones are packed with the 6.78-inch Samsung AMOLED E4 display with Gorilla Glass Victus protection, 144Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, FHD+ 2448 x 1080 resolution, HDR10+, 151 percent sRGB, 111 percent DCI-P3, up to 1,200 nits peak brightness, and an In-Display fingerprint reader.
The display may seem similar to the screen of the older ROG Phone 5 at first glance, but it has a slightly upgraded 360Hz touch sampling rate coming from 300Hz. These numbers are likely important for competitive mobile gamers.
At the back, only the ROG Phone 5s Pro has the matrix color display additional sensors.
